challenge to draw and paint in different media is one that I continue
to take up. Click on the links to the right for examples of work that
I hope show the kind of learning curve I've been on and will continue
to be on. Renoir was a great favourite of mine years ago as you may
gather. To me no one painted skin the way he could. I'd learn valuable
lessons through closely observing his work. I couldn't see myself
adopting his technique in my own work however. It was too tricky.
Today it's the PreRaphaelites that influence me, but I still very
much appreciate the supreme skill of the Frenchman. |
