 This
is simply called The Moment. You may recognise the girl from my
previous picture 'The Dancer'. Here is someone doing what she was
born to do. What comes most naturally to her. As complicated and
physically demanding as her routine is she still wore the expression
of someone totally at one with herself and with what she was doing.
Athletes call it 'living in the moment'. That's what I saw in her
eyes that day. That's what I tried to capture with this picture.

props herself up on her elbows. This is a new trick she has learned.
For so long she has only seen ceilings and skies but now she can
see things she has never seen before. New horizons. Every day offers
a continous stream of new discoveries. What is going through her
mind....? Whatever it is it must be wonderful.
