What you are seeing is her reflection. Her eyes are so fixed on her own eyes that she is oblivious to anything else around her. Norma Jeane's character was erased and redrawn as the watercolour wash I originally laid was too weak and needed more colour. I wanted a warm healthy skin tone for her that could contrast with the pale ghost of Marilyn Monroe.
