The
Hunger Site
It may seem
small, but every little helps. This is the first link I'd like to
put on my website. Just one click of your mouse button and you are
making a difference. Click the yellow button on the website and
that click provides the means for one cup of food for someone who
desperately needs it and it won't cost you a penny. There are other
websites linked to this site that can help worthy causes in a similar
way. Just one click of your mouse buttion, that's all it costs.
The
Penny Rhodes Art Studio
My friend Penny
is a Colorado based artist working in pastel, oil, charcoal and
graphites. She gains much inspiration from the beautiful area she
lives in.
Donna Cale - Portraits With A Human Touch
My friend Donna
has creative talent in many areas. She shares my interest in pencil
portraiture and also finds inspiration in the work of the PreRaphaelites.
For me, I admire the way she captures childhood with graphite. Great
observation is required to do this. Judging by her scenic photography,
she happens to live in a stunning part of the world too.
The
Art Renewal Center
Recommended
to me, this website aims for a return to traditional classical fine
art. If, like me, you feel that a great deal of modern art is totally
overrated, over-hyped and lacking in any skill, then this is the
site for you. It contains great high-resolution images from artists
such as Millais, Rossetti, Burne-Jones, Leighton, Waterhouse, Alma-Tadema,
Bouguereau.....to name a few of my favourites.
The
De Morgan Centre
To my mind an
artist that is a little underrated is Evelyn De Morgan. One of the
first female artists to study at the Slade School of Art she was
exceptionally good at drawing. It was when looking at her drawings
at an exhibition in Wandsworth, London that I changed my approach
to drawing in the late '90s. The De Morgan Centre is well worth
a visit.
