Portrait
of Elizabeth Taylor 1990 by
Paul Noonan
Graphite
pencil on paper
I can still
remember drawing 'The Elizabeth Taylor' seventeen years ago.
I've aged but the picture hasn't lol. I'd like to think I'm more
in control with my drawing these days and I can anticipate the final
outcome of the picture I'm working on. That's not the case however.
Pictures seem to have a way of surprising me as they progress. I
guess that's why I do what I do. She stunned me when I realised
how well she was turning out.
It was not without
it's trials. On one occasion the easel collapsed and the picture
hit a chair that inflicted a scar across her cheek. With much TLC
I restored her.
