Oil pastel and emulsion on Ingres board

I feel I owe so much to Rossetti. If you've ever stood in front of a Rossetti painting or pastel you'll know why his work inspires. Proserpine is my favourite painting of his and he produced eight recorded versions of her. I'm lucky to have seen three but it's the version in Manchester that really blew me away.

This shows a closeup of my copy of Proserpine. It was part of a 'mixed media' experiment of mine, bringing together the unlikely combination of oil pastels and household emulsion paint on board.
